What it is

Ask for an order, or a change

FL-300 asks for decisions about specific issues in a family law case. The official guide also describes its use to request a change to an existing order. Some proceedings require different forms.

When it is used

The hearing and the request are separate

Page 1 includes the hearing notice and court-order area. Pages 2–4 and attachments describe the requested relief and supporting facts. A blank court-completed area does not necessarily mean the filer omitted an answer.

  • Required financial forms or other supporting documents have not been checked against the kind of order requested.

Questions

FL-300 questions

Can FL-300 change an existing order?

The official guide describes that use, including after judgment. Whether a particular order can be changed depends on the law and circumstances.

Does e-filing replace serving the other person?

No. Filing and service are separate requirements. The official request-for-order guide explains the service stage.

Should every court box already be filled in?

No. Page 1 has a court-use area. Review the official instructions rather than treating all blank court boxes as filing errors.
