Legal Hub Group for Clio Manage
Start California e-filings, process serving orders and Lexary document checks from a Clio matter. Court-stamped copies, signed proofs of service and fees go back into the same matter on their own.
What it does
- Start from a matter. When you start an e-filing, a serve order or a document check in Legal Hub Group, you pick a Clio matter. Legal Hub Group reads the matter's case number and court (from its custom fields), its parties and their addresses (from its contacts), and lists its documents to pick. Each one is filled in as a suggestion you check. Nothing is filed or ordered until you press the usual button.
- Inside Clio. The menu on a Clio document shows "File with LHG", "Check with Lexary" and "Serve with LHG"; the menu on a matter shows "Serve with LHG". Each opens Legal Hub Group in a new tab with that document or matter loaded.
- Back to Clio automatically. Court-stamped copies are saved in a folder for each filing in the matter. Signed proofs of service are saved to the matter. Court fees and Legal Hub Group's charges are recorded as expenses on the matter.
What is saved to Clio, and when
- A court-stamped copy, within about a minute of the court returning it.
- A signed proof of service, within about a minute of the process server signing it.
- E-filing fees, once the court accepts the filing (nothing is recorded for a rejected filing): court fees, Legal Hub Group's e-filing fee, and the court system's and card processing fees, each as its own expense.
- Process serving charges, once Legal Hub Group's invoice for the order is sent.
Expenses are recorded with Clio's usual settings for your firm, and you edit them in Clio like any other expense. Everything saved appears on the Clio page in your Legal Hub Group account, with "Try again" on anything Clio did not accept.
Set it up
- Sign in to your Legal Hub Group account. No account yet? Sign up.
- Open the menu with your name (top right) and choose Clio.
- Press Connect Clio, sign in to Clio and allow access.
Each person at your firm connects their own Clio user. Legal Hub Group sees only what that Clio user can see.
Disconnect
Press Disconnect Clio on the same page, or remove Legal Hub Group from your Clio account's settings. Either way, Legal Hub Group's access ends and the links it kept between your filings and serve orders and your Clio matters are deleted. Your filings, serve orders and their documents stay in your Legal Hub Group account. Disconnect Clio also removes Legal Hub Group's menu items from Clio.
Your data
- Legal Hub Group reads only the matters, contacts and documents you open through it, when you open them. It does not copy your Clio account.
- The Clio access is stored encrypted (AES-256) and is never shown to anyone. All traffic is over HTTPS.
- A Clio document you pick becomes part of the filing, serve order or check you started with it, like any document you upload.
- See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Price
The Clio connection is free. Filings and serve orders cost what they cost in Legal Hub Group without Clio (e-filing, process serving).
