The form says the social worker or probation officer must file JV-224 for any hearing at which the court is overseeing psychotropic medications, including every scheduled progress review on a medication order and every status review hearing. It cites Welfare and Institutions Code sections 369.5, 739.5 and 14028 and California Rules of Court, rules 5.640 and 5.642.

Before you file
Common filing problems to check
These checks come from the official form and instructions. They are not a ranking of rejection reasons; the court decides whether a filing meets its requirements.
For a status review hearing, JV-224 is not filed with the status review hearing report, as the form directs.
Item 5’s medication list is not verified against what the child is actually taking.
Questions are left blank instead of answered “I do not know.”
