What it is

Before the case management conference

CM-110 tells the court where a civil case stands: service, the type of case, trial, alternative dispute resolution, insurance, related cases, motions and discovery. Its instructions say all applicable boxes must be checked and the specified information provided. It cites California Rules of Court, rules 3.720–3.730.

When it is used

Due 15 calendar days ahead

Rule 3.725 says each party must file a case management statement and serve it on all other parties no later than 15 calendar days before the conference or review. Two or more parties may file a joint statement instead.

  • The statement is filed or served later than 15 calendar days before the conference.
  • Items 2 and 3, which plaintiffs and cross-complainants must answer, are left blank.
  • Item 19 is blank or does not explain why the parties did not meet and confer.
  • A joint statement is missing one of the parties’ signatures.
